The Alfred, Physician Trainee Program is proud to announce that our Clinical Exam Preparation Courses will be back for 2022.  This year we are offering not 2 but 3 courses. The feedback from our courses for the last two years have been amazing and we look forward to providing you with a comprehensive offering again in 2022.   Registration dates and further details are not far away please keep an eye on this page for details soon to be announced.

Outstanding clinical physician exam results

We are delighted to report a 91 per cent pass rate in the 2022 Clinical Physician Exam with 31 successful candidates. This is well above the national and state average pass rate for this examination.

Hosted by the wonderful Australian Journalist, Virginia Trioli, these were made extra special being The Alfred 150^th Anniversary Year.

Professor Flavia Cicuttini has been jointly awarded the 2021 Eric Susman Prize for her outstanding contribution to the knowledge of internal medicine.

In September 2022 one of The Alfred’s very own, Basic Physician Trainee, Laura McArthur will leave our shores to take up residence marching the hallowed halls of arguably the most prestigious University in the world, Oxford University in England. Laura has been awarded a Rhodes scholarship and will be leaving us next year to take up this life changing opportunity. Our hopes are that she returns to BPT training with tales of snowy winters, brilliant minds and international inspiration.

Congratulations to our own Associate Professor Edwina Wright AM, Professor Flavia Cicuttini AM and Colonel Susan Winter OAM, who were each named on the Queen’s Birthday Honours list this week.
